Addictive Disease Services

When alcohol, drugs or gambling are recognized as a problem…then alcohol, drugs or gambling are a problem to be treated.

Approximately 30 million people in the United States have an addictive disease and another 120 million are affected by the addictive disease of a family member. Addictive behaviors contribute to work, school, financial, family, health, legal, relationship, spiritual, and social problems.

  • Assessment & Evaluation

Comprehensive mental health and addiction assessments are conducted in an interview style to determine the degree to which addictive behaviors have become a problem.  After a thorough review of the person’s strengths and problem areas, the consumer and the clinician develop and mutually agree upon a plan of treatment to reduce the harm that addiction has brought to the consumer’s life.  This, and all phases of treatment, are designed to address what the consumer wants from the treatment experience.

  •  Addiction Education

A person may not be certain if a change is needed and may be required by a school, court or other interested party to receive drug education.  This group meets two hours once a week for up to ten weeks.  Focus is given to the addictive process and understanding the degree that use, abuse or dependence on substances may be playing in the life of the persons attending.

  •  Individual Treatment

At times there are concerns an individual would rather talk about privately with a professional.  The individual level of treatment is intended to address reasons for using substances, issues generating from the use, and working a corrective action plan to bring the problem into the control of the consumer.

  • Intensive Outpatient Program

ADULT - The stronger the addictive hold in one’s life, the more intense the treatment services need to be in order to bring about change.  This level of care focuses on education, addressing behaviors, blunted feelings, tools development, corrective actions, and an individualized path to be successful with sobriety.

ADOLESCENT – When dealing with life’s issues gets complicated help is available. The Intensive Outpatient Youth Program addresses behavioral, emotional, and substance related issues.  Family participation and involvement is strongly recommended.

  • Detoxification Services

When medical detoxification is necessary, referrals are made to inpatient facilities or other services that specialize in medical stabilization.  This is sometimes indicated and necessary prior to entering other levels of care.

  • Relapse Prevention

This program focuses on supporting on-going recovery and preventing relapse.  It usually begins at the completion of the Intensive Outpatient Program.  Meetings are once per week for an hour and a half each session.
